Traditional Pen & Ink (8) – King Street South, Newtown NSW 2042

August 15, 2011

Photo I took twenty years ago; the presence of Elisabeth Gallery dates it to possibly around 1993; opposite the Greek Orthodox Church (blue fence far right) not far from Newtown Railway station and the intersection with Enmore Road. The grey 1890 building in the middle was at the time untenanted and in a state of great disrepair; it has since been demolished.

Still sticking to the current theme of streetscapes. I enlarged the photo freehand to around C5 size; drawn by hand (no rulers) with pencil then Staedtler Fineliner pen 0.5mm. Contour line with hatching and cross-hatching.
